🧘🏾The Meditation–Medication Paradox: How and Why I Learned to Meditate🧘🏾

Looking back, meditation has become a powerful tool in every part of my life. A few years ago, after being diagnosed with high blood pressure and hypertension, my doctor recommended medication. Wanting to avoid the side effects of pharmaceuticals, I began researching alternatives—and that’s when I discovered the incredible benefits of meditation. Not only did it offer mindfulness and calm, but it also supported my overall health in ways I hadn’t expected.

As I committed to a daily practice, I noticed improvements in my thinking, mood, emotional balance, and memory. An added bonus: gradual weight loss. Alongside meditation, I also began taking a daily beet supplement (like SuperBeets or beet juice), another natural support for healthy blood pressure.

At my next check-up, the doctor was amazed—my blood pressure had returned to a healthy range, and my heart rate was compared to that of a marathon runner. I didn’t share that I had never taken the prescribed pills. Instead, I just smiled, said “Thank you, doc,” and bought a home blood pressure monitor to track my progress myself.
